BOSTON - Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair Steve Kerrigan released the following statement in response to Republican Mike Kennealy’s announcement that he is launching a campaign for Governor.&nbsp;“The people of Massachusetts know that a vote for Mike Kennealy is a vote for Donald Trump’s agenda. From Trump’s tariffs to the Republican crusade to eliminate heath care to Elon Musk’s halting cures for cancer and Alzheimer’s — the people of Massachusetts need a Governor like Maura Healey who is unafraid to take on Donald Trump and stand up for them.The biggest threat to Massachusetts’ at this moment is Donald Trump, and Mike Kennealy didn’t even mention him once in his announcement video. It’s further proof that voters simply can not trust Mike Kennealy to stand up to Donald Trump on the issues that matter most in their lives.”Mike Kennealy’s job was to oversee housing and economic development in our state. He failed to prevent skyrocketing housing costs and failed to cut taxes — which Governor Healey passed in her first year in office. We need a Governor who is going to continue to deliver for people and stand up to Donald Trump, not take us backwards - it’s why we must re-elect Maura Healey and Kim Driscoll.”###
