REPUBLICAN GOV. BAKER STUMPS FOR TEA PARTY DIEHL
South Shore Voters Wonder: On Which Right Wing Stances Does Baker Agree with Diehl
BOSTON—Ahead of his trip to stump for his endorsed candidate for state Senate, Tea Partier Geoff Diehl, the Massachusetts Democratic Party calls on Republican Gov. Baker to clarify which of Diehl’s out of touch positions he agrees with.
“With Republican Baker endorsing a candidate with whom many Republicans are unable to work collaboratively, one has to wonder which of Diehl’s Tea Party stances does Baker agree with,” said MassDems Spokesman Pat Beaudry. “Geoff Diehl is a ’no’ vote on increasing the minimum wage for working families and he is a ‘yes’ vote for cutting taxes for millionaires — both are bad for the district’s voters.”
Diehl favors right wing ideology over finding solutions to help people and this led House Minority Leader Brad Jones to remove him of a key assignment. Jones said at the time, “I think others have demonstrated a better ability to work with the Republican leadership office.”
