Massachusetts Democrats Launch "Weekend of Action" This Saturday

Grassroots Activists Across the Commonwealth are Knocking Doors to Engage Voters for November

BOSTON – The Massachusetts Democratic Party, in conjunction with the Organized to Win Coordinated Campaign led by U.S. Senator Ed Markey, today announced its first Weekend of Action, which kicks off Saturday morning across the Commonwealth.

"Massachusetts Democrats know that in order to win, we need to activate the grassroots. That means having one-on-one conversations with voters about the ideas and values of Democrats and highlighting the stark differences with Republican Charlie Baker and his fellow Republicans," said Coordinated Campaign Co-Chair State Sen. Ben Downing. "While Republican Baker has consistently sat on the sidelines and rooted for failure by tearing down Massachusetts, we're going to remind voters how the policies of Democratic leadership over the past eight years have our Commonwealth back in the leadership business. We're No. 1 in the nation in education, clean energy, business competitiveness, and veterans services and we need to keep moving forward."

The first Weekend of Action begins this Saturday, July 19, with door-to-door canvasses scheduled in Barnstable, Boston, Brockton, Cambridge, Fitchburg, Framingham, Holyoke, Lexington, Lowell, Malden, Marlborough, Milford, New Bedford, Northbridge, Shrewsbury, Somerville, Springfield, Taunton, and Worcester.
