MASSACHUSETTS DEMOCRATS: IT’S ABOUT TIME STEVE BANNON IS OUT ON THE CURB

BOSTON – Massachusetts Democrats today were pleased to see reports that President Trump is getting ready to fire Special Advisor Steve Bannon from a role in the White House he never deserved to have.

“Giving a known white supremacist, racist, anti-Semite, and misogynist a position in the White House for one day, was one day too many,” said Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair Gus Bickford. “Massachusetts Democrats have been condemning his role in the Trump Administration for six months. Unfortunately, our Republican Governor stayed silent – as usual.”

Since November, over 16,220 Massachusetts residents have signed the state Democratic Party’s petition calling on Governor Baker to take a stand against Bannon’s appointment to the White House.

After returning a meeting of the Republican Governor’s Association around the time of Bannon’s appointment, Governor Baker said there was “too much prejudging” of the Trump Administration and that he wanted to take a “wait and see approach.”

“Look what we got with ‘wait and see’, Governor Baker,” continued Bickford. “If you and your fellow Republicans had the courage to stand up to Donald Trump, we would have been able to send Bannon packing a lot sooner.”
