MASSACHUSETTS DEMOCRATIC PARTY TO HOST STATE CONVENTION IN WORCESTER

BOSTON – The Massachusetts Democratic Party today announced that its annual State Convention will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Worcester DCU Center. Delegates, alternates, and party officials from all over Massachusetts will convene at the 2017 Convention to adopt a new Party platform.

The Convention was originally scheduled to be hosted in Lowell but is being moved to the Worcester location because of time constraints on the Lowell facility that would prevent the Party from being able to use the facility for the full day.

Right now, caucuses are being hosted by local Democratic Town Committees and Democratic Ward Committees throughout the state – bringing together local registered Democrats to elect delegates and alternates to the 2017 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention. Each caucus is open to all registered and pre-registered Democrats residing in that particular town or ward. Delegates are divided equally between men and women, and all ballots will be written and secret. Youth, minorities, and people with disabilities who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply to be add-on delegates, either at their caucus or online at www.massdems.org.

A list of upcoming caucuses can be found here: http://massdems.org/caucuses/2017-caucuses.
