MASSACHUSETTS DEMOCRATIC PARTY STATEMENT ON BAKER’S LETTER TO CONGRESS

BOSTON – Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair Gus Bickford released the following statement in response to Governor Charlie Baker’s letter to the U.S. Senate Finance Committee on the impacts Massachusetts will face with the repeal of the Affordable Care Act:

“It’s beyond time for Governor Baker to do more than send another anemic letter to be filed away in a drawer down in D.C. He must do everything in his power to convince the members of his own party that Trumpcare is a deadly bill for Massachusetts and residents across the nation.

“Governor Baker needs to stop being pen pals with his fellow Republicans in Washington and step up for the people of Massachusetts. If he lacks the courage to really confront the leaders of his own party, he will be complicit in the damage this bill will have on millions of Americans.”
