Massachusetts Democratic Party Releases 2020 DNC Delegate Selection Plan

Boston, March 5 – The Massachusetts Democratic Party today released its delegate selection plan for the 2020 Democratic National Convention. The plan will now be open for comment and public feedback for 30 days. Following the public comment period, the Massachusetts Democratic State Committee, composed of over 400 members from across the Commonwealth, will vote on adoption of the delegate selection plan at their April 6th State Committee Meeting.

The draft delegate selection plan includes a specific outreach and inclusion program, developed by a statewide committee of 60 members representing diverse constituencies, which places an intentional focus informing and engaging new Party members, young people, communities of color, immigrant communities and others.

“The Democratic Party is excited to unveil our delegate selection plan in advance of one of the most important election cycles in a generation,” said Gus Bickford, Chair of the Massachusetts Democratic Party. “We are committed to ensuring a diverse and dynamic group of delegates who represent the values of Massachusetts Democrats, and who will be active and engaged throughout the 2020 election process.”
