Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair Calls on Charlie Baker to Restore Cuts to Critical Programs and Services

BOSTON – With mid-December tax collections up by $39 million, Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair Gus Bickford called on Governor Charlie Baker to restore the cuts he made to critical programs and services at the beginning of the month.

"With the news that mid-December tax collections are up by $39 million, the Governor should immediately share a list of budget cuts he plans to restore, starting with funding to combat the opioid crisis and to promote tourism in Massachusetts communities, which he unilaterally cut earlier this month," Bickford said. "Baker cannot continue to use revenue projections as a false pretense to cut critical programs he does not agree with and advance his own policies over those of the Legislature."
