Mass Dems Voice Serious Concerns Regarding Republican Gov. Charlie Baker’s Misleading and Inaccurate MBTA Data

BOSTON—In light of recent news stories exposing Republican Gov. Charlie Baker’s MBTA Review data as misleading and inaccurate, the Massachusetts Democratic Party released the following statement:

“Anyone who commutes to work – whether driving, walking, riding a bike or taking the T, commuter rail or bus – knows we need to improve our transportation infrastructure. During this winter’s snowstorms, our statewide economy took a hit because people could not get to work. Fixing our transportation infrastructure has and will continue to be a priority for Democrats. Over the past few years, we’ve instituted reforms to save the Commonwealth billions of dollars and fixed neglected T stations, roads and bridges. However, there’s more work to do,” said Mass Dems Spokesman Pat Beaudry. “That is why it is so troubling to read in Commonwealth Magazine and the Boston Globe that the data used by Gov. Baker’s special panel, in its haste to diagnose the problems at the MBTA, was both inaccurate and misleading. The public deserves to know the true indicators of what went wrong at the T.”
