“With Chris Christie just over the border in New Hampshire, he ought to drive down to Lowell and join Republican Charlie Baker for a press conference to answer questions about the alleged pay-to-play scheme and potential violations of New Jersey law,” said Coordinated Campaign Chair Ben Downing. “If Republicans Baker and Christie believe they did not break any laws, then surely they can find the time to answer these important questions:
2. Has Republican Charlie Baker been subpoenaed by the New Jersey State Treasurer’s office? Has Republican Baker been asked to testify without a subpoena?
3. Will Republicans Baker and Christie call for the New Jersey State Treasurer’s office to release its report on the investigation?
4. How much money from the fund in question was invested in companies that pay Republican Baker directly or the LLC set up in his name? How much money is Republican Baker going to make off the sale of the fund in question?
5. The Republican National Committee filed a federal lawsuit to loosen pay-to-play restrictions – was Republican Baker part of this discussion? Does Republican Baker support the lawsuit?
