Health Care for All?
HHS Secretary Marylou Sudders recently told the Boston Globe that an analysis should be conducted to determine if it's worth it to reach the remaining uninsured residents of the Commonwealth.
In response, MassDems released the following statement and encouraged reporters to ask Governor Baker if this signals a plan to walk away from universal health care in his budget:
"If Secretary Sudders thinks we need an analysis to determine if minority, immigrant and low-income residents are worth the cost of health care outreach, that is shameful,” said MassDems Spokesman Pat Beaudry. “Governor Baker has already made large cuts to MassHealth, and if he supports this approach, Massachusetts will be walking away from the national health care leadership we fought so hard to achieve."
