BRISTOL AND NORFOLK WOMEN DESERVE ANSWERS FROM VENTURA

MANSFIELD – In the wake of the Trump Administration’s new rule that allows bosses to block their female employees from receiving health insurance coverage for contraception, Massachusetts Democrats are calling for Republican State Senate candidate Jacob Ventura to tell women where he stands when it comes to their health and their bodies.

“We’re suing the Trump administration to ensure that every woman has affordable access to birth control and that decisions to use it are made by women and their families, not their bosses,” said Attorney General Maura Healey. “Massachusetts leaders need to be clear whose side they’re on – the women of our state or those who want to pull us backward. Paul Feeney has been clear – he will stand up for women in the state Senate.”

“The women of the district deserve a Senator who is going to stand up against workplace discrimination and will fight the radical Trump agenda to take away healthcare from millions of women. Paul has dedicated his life to fighting for a better future for families and women and that’s the kind of person we need at the State House,” said former Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Evelyn Murphy.

According to recent reports, Washington D.C.-based right wing Republican groups supporting the Trump Administration are dumping money into this special election on behalf of Ventura.

Lieutenant Governor Murphy and Attorney General Healey kicked off a canvass for Paul Feeney yesterday at Feeney headquarters in Mansfield.

The candidates for the special election are scheduled to debate this evening at Medfield High School at 7 p.m. The debate, hosted by Medfield TV, will be live streamed here. The special election is set for next Tuesday, October 17.
