Super Tuesday, JFK Scholarship, & More!
Dear Democrats,
The clock is ticking down to Super Tuesday! Between the Presidential primary and over 50 #MassDemsCaucuses happening this weekend, there’s a lot going on in Massachusetts Democratic politics over the next few days. I’d like to tell you about another exciting development for the MassDems.
I’m happy to share that we’re accepting applications for the JFK Scholarship and Moakley Internship Program! The MassDems are committed to developing our Commonwealth’s next generation of leaders, and we’re excited to award another class of college students committed to our Democratic values. From climate to affordable higher education, young people are leading the fight on so many issues, and we’re looking for students who are leaders on their campus and in their community.
Applicants must be registered Massachusetts Democrats enrolled in a two- or four-year college or university with a 2.5 minimum GPA. If you, or someone you know is interested in applying but is ineligible to vote, that’s okay too–they should provide proof of engagement with a Democratic organization like Young Democrats of Massachusetts or College Democrats of Massachusetts.
More information about the program can be found here. We’re thrilled to be able to offer these scholarship and internship opportunities to deserving college students once again. So please, forward this email to your network, especially if you know a college student involved in Democratic politics!
Have a great weekend! And good luck to everyone, especially if you’ll be on the ballot this Tuesday!
All the best,
Allison Mitchell
Communications Manager, Massachusetts Democratic Party
Ideas for Committees
Sometimes, folks are ready to vote in an upcoming election but can’t seem to find a ride to the polls. We know that we all win when turnout is high, so think about organizing carpools to vote on Primary day! Start by organizing a schedule with your committee members, seeing who’s available at certain times to offer rides and pair up folks who can give rides with people that need them. Next, have everyone reach out to their network, especially older voters who might not be able to drive, and add those people into your schedule too. Also, remember to check in on your friends and family who don’t need assistance on Tuesday to make sure they’ve made it to their polling place!
