Greetings from Kate and Matt
Dear Democrats,
Summer is a fantastic time to learn and volunteer! There are some great educational events on the calendar below. And now the MDP is offering boot camps across the state.
Invitation from the MDP:
Are you looking to build on your skills as a Democratic campaigner? Do you want to learn from local campaign experts skilled in the Massachusetts political arena? Are you eager to take the first steps to join our efforts to get Democrats elected up in all corners of the Commonwealth?
Then you need to sign up for on of our Massachusetts Democratic Party Campaign Bootcamps this summer! Join your fellow Democrats at our Campaign Bootcamps being hosted in communities across the Commonwealth. Each Bootcamp will be open to 25-30 people and will provide plenty of opportunities for attendees to ask question, receive hands-on training, and network with other local Democrats and campaign experts.
Topics will include but are not limited to: canvassing best practices, how to use MiniVAN, Votebuilder trainings, how to recruit and manage volunteers, how to use virtual phone banks and Hubdialer to reach voters, using handy Google forms for organizing events and volunteers, and how to use social media to promote your events. Whether you’re just now getting engaged in the Party and campaigns or you’re looking to expand upon your skills, these Bootcamps will have something for everyone.
See the schedule below.
Democratically yours,
Kate Donaghue
PS Please be sure that you use the DDemDispatch-owner e-mail address when sending in events. And please keep in mind that Matt and I work hard to try to get the most up to date information, but sometimes things change or there is a miscommunication. Check with the organizer or the webiste if you see something that looks wrong.

Ideas for Committees – Make Your Meeting a Picnic
Looking for a way to make your summer meeting fun and memorable? Or want to have a low key, easy to cater event? Watermelon and Hoodsies! (Ice cream cups for those not from the area.) You can meet informally in a park or someone’s yard as part of a regular business meeting. Or you can make it a summer afternoon event without the hassle of grills and plates and forks. You do need spoons and a knife for cutting the watermelon. You can turn a meeting at your regular meeting room into an indoor picnic! Easy fun and affordable!
DNC – “I WILL RUN”
This week the DNC launched a new online hub called “I Will Run” that streamlines all of the tools a candidate might need in order to run a successful campaign. Through this first-of-its-kind hub, Democratic candidates will have access to a list of best-in-class tools and vendors – digital, finance, research, security, training, and voter outreach – that they will need through the life cycle of a campaign, complete with negotiated pricing.
