September Events – 09/14/2018

Greetings from Kate and Matt

Dear Democrats,

It was a tragic night in the Merrimack Valley. People are pulling together to help each other. I was especially moved by the video posted by my DSC colleague, Elaine Almquist, the campaign manager for Tram Nguyen. She wanted to let people know that she and the people involved in Tram’s campaign were OK and offered housing to people in need. When looking at events for this weekend, many events in the Merrimack Valley have been cancelled or postponed.

We continue to have opportunities to help elect Democrats across the state and across the country. Senator Elizabeth Warren has a Town Hall meeting in Quincy on Saturday. Senator Warren and Jay Gonzalez have an organizing meeting in Worcester on Sunday. There are many ways to get involved in campaigns. If you have friends who are thinking about getting involved attending either the Saturday event or the Sunday event with a friend is a good way to get them fired up and ready to go!

Democratically yours,

Kate Donaghue

PS Please be sure that you use the DDemDispatch-owner e-mail address when sending in events. And please keep in mind that Matt and I work hard to try to get the most up to date information, but sometimes things change or there is a miscommunication. Check with the organizer or the webiste if you see something that looks wrong.

Submitting Events – Special Update

Matt and I are now partnering with MassDems for publishing the Dispatch. If you have a newsletter that includes your events, and you would like us to know about them, please add “events@massdems.org” to your e-mail list. As time permits, we will include appropriate events that are listed in a newsletter. As usual, the best way to submit events is to send them to DDemDispatch-owner@yahoogroups.com with the subject line “For the Dispatch.”

Ideas for Committees – Ballot Questions

Vote to endorse a ballot question and/or urge your local legislative body to endorse a resolution. Here’s an example of a resolution on Question 3 that the Melrose Board of Aldermen passed: http://bit.ly/yeson3_muni_resolution.
