Mississippi Senate Race, Holiday Parties – 11/23/2018

Greetings from Kate and Matt

Dear Democrats,

Here on the day after Thanksgiving, I am thankful for our Blue Wave.

Here is a “CHEAT SHEET” from the DNC as of this past Monday:

At least 40 House seats flipped (39 confirmed by the AP)

7 governor seats flipped (more gov seats flipped by any party since 1994)

7 new state legislative majorities, and 8 this cycle

4 Republican supermajorities in state legislatures broken

4 Attorney General seats flipped

3 Secretary of State seats flipped

2 Senate seats flipped

At least 380 state legislative seats flipped this cycle

And we are still working on Mississippi. The runoff election for U. S. Senate is on Tuesday, November 27.

I spent some time calling Mississippi voters earlier this week. Almost everyone I spoke with was a supporter. My focus was on getting people to “make a plan.” Just a simple “What time are you voting?” conversation makes a big difference in getting a person to actually vote. Today (11/23) is critical. I found that many people who were eligible did not know that they could vote on Saturday morning from 8 am to Noon. To be eligible the voter must be 65 or older. See below for information.

Democratically yours,

Kate Donaghue

PS Please be sure that you use the DDemDispatch-owner e-mail address when sending in events. And please keep in mind that Matt and I work hard to try to get the most up to date information, but sometimes things change or there is a miscommunication. Check with the organizer or the website if you see something that looks wrong.

Ideas for Committees – Make Calls to Missisippi

Gather a few members between now and the end of the day on Tuesday, November 27 to encourage Democrats in to vote in the runoff election for U. S. Senate.

The message from the Deep South is “We are in striking distance of winning this thing and need all your help!
