Late Summer Gatherings – 08/10/2018
Greetings from Kate and Matt
Dear Democrats,
This coming Wednesday is the deadline for registering to vote for the primary.
Here’s a message from my friend Jeremiah with the Elizabeth Warren campaign:
“The bottom line is that we can’t take ANYTHING for granted this November. So if you think you’re registered, check one more time. Talk to your kids, parents, siblings, cousins, coworkers, and neighbors to make sure they are registered. Send them the links or drop off the papers if you think they need help.”
Or at your local town clerk or elections division.
At this link a person can register or pre-register to vote, update your address, party or name, as well as check your registration information.
I’ve posted about the DCI Bootcamps that the MDP has been doing. I’m going to use my editor’s prerogative today and encourage people to attend the one in Westborough on Thursday. Most of them have been during the day on weekends. This is in the evening for folks who might work, volunteer or have other obligations on weekends. Check it out:
08/16 7:00-8:45pm Westborough, Tatnuck, 18 Lyman St. https://bit.ly/2AL9X06
Regular readers might know that I am particularly supportive of the social aspects of political volunteering. In keeping with that custom it is likely that we will go out to a local restaurant for light refreshments immediately following the training. If you know anyone who is interested in learning how to be an effective activist, please encourage them to attend this or one of the others on the list below.
Democratically yours,
Kate Donaghue
PS Please be sure that you use the DDemDispatch-owner e-mail address when sending in events. And please keep in mind that Matt and I work hard to try to get the most up to date information, but sometimes things change or there is a miscommunication. Check with the organizer or the webiste if you see something that looks wrong.

Ideas for Committees – Election Planning Meeting
As we get closer to the general election, now is a good time to start planning Democratic activities to gear up for the general election. Having a meeting and publicizing that it is happening is a good way to identify area people who might not be interested in engaging in routine Democratic Committee meetings but who would be ready to engage in campaigns. I repeat the advice I have shared in the past, “Do something and tell people about it.” H/T John Walsh.
