January 17, 2020/Dispatch
January in full swing! DNC Trainings, Regional DCIs & more.
Dear Democrats,
This week, we had another great Democratic debate. After multiple debates, forums, and events, our candidates are ready to head into the Iowa caucuses and voters are ready to officially start the process of selecting our nominee.
If you want to have a larger role in the nominating process, consider running as a delegate to the national convention in Milwaukee! We have some handy resources here on our website and we have upcoming trainings this weekend in Pittsfield, Leominster, Lowell, and Boston. They’re all listed in the dispatch and on our website here!
Finally, with the 2020 elections on the horizon, the MassDems are taking the Democratic Campaign Institute on the road again!
The Democratic Campaign Institute brings together campaign managers, candidates, town committee members, and activists from across the Commonwealth to learn from some of our political experts on political strategy and grassroots organizing skills. Everyone is encouraged to attend, no matter their level of experience or skills – from those just becoming active to the most seasoned campaign leaders.
Participants will learn different elements of successful campaigning including Votebuilder 201, strategic messaging, fundraising basics, and more. If you are interested in attending a Regional DCI, you can sign up here.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Patrick Coyne
Communications Manager, Massachusetts Democratic Party
Ideas for Committees
As you head into the new year, it’s a great time to increase your committee’s social media presence. Having an active social media page can help increase attendance at your meetings/events and raise your committee’s profile! Here are some simple steps you can take to do this: make sure all your members are following your pages, post your meetings on social media, have conversations in the comments, promote other events on your page, encourage interested people to follow, and make sure one or two people are responsible for managing your social media. If you want help or guidance with this, reach out to us at contact@massdems.org.
