November 29, 2019/Dispatch
Happy Thanksgiving! Kate’s Holiday Party & More.
Dear Democrats,
Kate Donaghue here today in honor of the holidays and the long tradition of the Democratic Dispatch on Friday! Happy Thanksgiving weekend! We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and are enjoying some delicious leftovers today.
With December only a few days away, we’re officially in the Holiday Season! What better way is there to get into the Holiday Season than by celebrating with your Democratic friends? The Dispatch current has holiday parties that are hosted by the Western MA Young Dems and these town and ward committees that we know of so far: Acton-Boxborough, Ashland, Bedford, Boston Ward 4, Bridgewater, Cambridge, Chatham, CIDC/Dennis, Harwich, Lawrence, Mansfield, Medway, Natick, Sudbury, Wayland, Westborough, Wilmington, and Worcester. There are also a variety of candidates and elected officials hosting parties as well, so be sure to check out the dispatch to see what parties are happening around you, and please send us any others that you’re hosting!
I’ll take advantage of my soapbox today and invite you to do the Westborough Dems Holiday Party, also known as Kate’s Holiday Party! This year it will be on December 8, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Red Heat in Westborough. The guest list is still information! So far the following are either confirmed or hoping to attend! Senator Ed Markey, Secretary William Galvin, Auditor Suzanne Bump, State Senator Jamie Eldridge, Representatives Caroline Dykema, and Danielle Gregoire. County officials from multiple counties usually attend; we’re currently expecting Joe Early Jr., Marian Ryan, Dennis McManus, and Katie Toomey. The details are in the calendar section – more information here.
Democratically yours,
Kate Donaghue

Sad News
It is with sadness that I share the news that Walter McGovern, father of Congressman Jim McGovern, passed away on Wednesday. Walter was such a friendly, generous, thoughtful man. His passing leaves a hole in our Democratic world in the Second CD. Our condolences to his wife Mindy, Jim and Lisa, and the whole McGovern family.
Ideas for Committees: Host a Holiday Party!
Many committees are holding holiday parties to bring together members, raise funds for their work, celebrate the efforts of activists, hear from elected officials, and strategize for 2020. If your committee isn’t already planning an end-of-year holiday party, considering holding one! A seasonal event like this is also a great opportunity to partner with neighboring committees to build connections and draw a larger crowd! If your committee is holding an event, be sure to send it into events@massdems.org so we can promote it in the Dispatch!
