DISPATCH: Maine Dems X Mass Dems Week of Action, Events, & More!
Dear Democrats,
Winning in 2020 means more than taking back the White House–it’s protecting the House and flipping the Senate too. If we want to stop Mitch McConnell from destroying our democracy, we have to make this Susan Collins’ last term.
The Maine Senator has spent the past four years propping up the Trump agenda. Collins made national headlines when she cast a decisive vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, and although she won’t say if she’s supporting Donald Trump this November, he’s 100% behind her. Her silence speaks louder than words ever could.
That’s why, next week, we’re launching a MaineDems X MassDems Week of Action–to help our neighbors check in with voters before their big Senate primary on 7/14. Click here to join us.
According to recent polls, Collins is in big trouble, but she’s got the Trump/McConnell war chest helping her out. But, for the first time in three decades, Maine Democrats have the largest bloc of registered voters in the state.
High turnout in the primary would show Susan Collins, Mitch McConnell, and President Trump how fired up Democrats are to flip the Senate and take back the White House–and that they have a lot to lose this November. Click here to join the team that will make this Mitch McConnell’s last term as Majority Leader.
As always, send your events to events@massdems.org and have a safe and healthy weekend!
All the best,
Allison Mitchell
MassDems Communications Manager
Ideas for Committees
Join the Maine Dems X Mass Dems Week of Action and help us get the word out to your network. After your committee commits to shift of their own, use our Week of Action Toolkit to promote the event via email and social media. Each shift includes training and dial time. After you sign up, you’ll get an email from the Maine Dems with a link to join the Zoom call for the pre-phonebank training. You’ll go over the plan to win Maine in 2020, the current voter contact script, and how to use Maine’s virtual phonebanking tools. If you have questions, contact Erin Buechele at erin@massdems.org.
