Countdown to Presidential Primary Begins! Events & More.
Dear Democrats,
This year will be an exciting time full of breaking news alerts, impassioned victory speeches, and far too many fundraising emails. Now more than ever, it’s a great time for you to get more involved! Whether it’s for local, state, or national politics, here are a few ideas to get you inspired
- Run to be a delegate to the state or national convention! Check out our website for more info.
- Volunteer for a local or national candidate or organization that you support! Commit to phonebank or canvass a few times a month or for however much time you’re able.
- Work with your town or ward committee to start that new initiative you’ve been thinking about. Now is the time to make it happen!
- With the 2020 elections on the horizon, the MassDems are taking the Democratic Campaign Institute on the road again! Participants will learn different elements of successful campaigning including Votebuilder 201, strategic messaging, fundraising basics, and more. If you are interested in attending a Regional DCI, you can sign up here.
- If you want to have a larger role in the nominating process, consider running as a delegate to the national convention in Milwaukee! We have some handy resources here on our website, and we have trainings on the DNC delegation selection process all over the state. They’re all listed in the dispatch and on our website here.
What are you waiting for? It’s time to get get out there and help get Democrats to win up and down the ballot!
Sincerely,
Patrick Coyne
Communications Manager, Massachusetts Democratic Party
Ideas for Committees
As you head into the new year, it’s a great time to increase your committee’s social media presence. Having an active social media page can help increase attendance at your meetings/events and raise your committee’s profile! Here are some simple steps you can take to do this: make sure all your members are following your pages, post your meetings on social media, have conversations in the comments, promote other events on your page, encourage interested people to follow, and make sure one or two people are responsible for managing your social media. If you want help or guidance with this, reach out to us at contact@massdems.org.
