Frequently Asked Questions

We are so excited to see you at the Convention this September. We know you’ll have a bunch of questions about the delegate process at the Convention, so be sure to check out our Frequently Asked Questions. Feel free to ask us any other questions that you may have by emailing convention@massdems.org, or by giving us a call at (617) 939-0800.

When is the Convention?

The Convention will be on Saturday, September 14th, 2019. Registration will open at 7:30am and the Convention will be called to order at 10:00am.

What events will occur during the Convention?

The MassDems Convention won’t be the only exciting event in Springfield that weekend! On Friday night before the Convention, there will be Convention parties hosted by elected officials, Democratic activists, and progressive groups across the City of Springfield. For more information about parties, please check back in August.

Friday, September 13th is also the first day of the Big E, a large fair New England that takes place in West Springfield! Check out the Avenue of States for some New England history, or hit up the fairground for carnival rides and games. The Big E is one of the largest fairs in the country, so you won’t want to miss it.

There are also plenty of other places to visit in Springfield! Springfield is home to the Basketball Hall of Fame, the Merriam Webster Museum, and the Dr. Seuss Museum. This convention is more than just a day — it is a great weekend adventure for all delegates!

Where is the Convention?

The MassMutual Center, 1277 Main Street, Springfield, MA

How do I get my credentials for the Convention?

Pay your delegate fee before the August 9th deadline and we will send your credentials right to your house in late August. You can pay your fee here, or you may apply for a fee waiver here. Miss the deadline? That’s okay — you can pick your credentials up at Registration!

Credentials will be mailed in late August to delegates and alternates who paid their fee by the August 9th deadline. If you do not receive your credentials in the mail, you can get your credentials at Registration at the Convention. Registration will be open at the MassMutual Center the evening before the Convention on Friday, September 13th from 4:30 – 8:00pm (time is subject to change). On the day of the Convention, Saturday, September 14th, registration will open at 7:30am and will close at 10:00am.

Where will I sit during the Convention?
