Mitt Romney: Great Hair, No Heart
Yesterday, Governor Mitt Romney informed us that he deserves high marks for his accomplishments over the past two years, but today's budget vetoes earn him failing grades.
Economy/ jobs = F
The ‘jobs governor' cut $4 million in funding for an international marketing program to conduct strategic marketing to restore Massachusetts ' companies. It's no wonder people are fleeing the state for better-paying jobs.
Public Safety = F
Let the governor explain why he cut $973,000 in funding for family support for the families of murder victims.
How can our ‘I am testing the presidential waters' governor continue the tough talk on terrorism when he just cut $50,000 in funding for a new anti-terrorism commission to develop risk communication protocols, community anti-terrorism strategies and other anti-terrorism programs?
Education = F
It looks like the Governor's real ‘Legacy of Learning' includes slashing Head Start programs by $1.3 million and cutting $455,334 from the new Department of Early Education and Care.
Health Care = F
Governor “I'm pro-choice in Massachusetts , pro-life everywhere else” Romney may be ambivalent about abortion, but he's rock-solid when it comes to teenage pregnancy. His budget veto slashes nearly $1 million in funding for teenage pregnancy prevention programs.
Housing = F
Governor Romney has taken some heat for his record on affordable housing, but he's just adding fuel to the fire by eliminating $2 million in funding for rental assistance funding for low-income families and elderly persons.
Teacher's Note: With such dismal grades and his frequent unexcused absences away from the state, Governor Romney deserves to be expelled from Massachusetts !
