Johnston Comments on Romney Presidential Announcement
“Mitt Romney is the king of the flip-floppers. He is going around the country changing his position on almost every major issue in order to endear himself to conservative voters,” said Massachusetts Democratic Party Chairman Philip Johnston. Johnston continued, “He misled the voters of Massachusetts and now he is going around the country misleading voters about his record and his policy positions. I believe that it speaks volumes that he is making his announcement outside of Massachusetts .” Chairman Johnston is referring to Romney's change of position on taxes, abortion, gay rights, stem cell research, gun rights, campaign finance, and the Massachusetts health care plan.
“Romney's smooth talking, double speak will not fool anyone. He simply cannot be trusted and the American voters can see that,” Johnston concluded.
