"I was dumbfounded to read in today's Boston
Globe that Governor Romney's chief financial officer has acknowledged
fabricating the numbers he used last week when he spoke to the Greater
Boston Chamber of Commerce about the ratio of government services'
'givers and takers.'
"Not only were Eric Kriss' comments highly
offensive, he now admits to using false numbers in his attempt to
characterize the divide between those who contribute to government
through taxes with those who receive government services.
"My questions are: What is Governor Romney
going to do about this? Is he going to allow key people within his
administration to use inflammatory and inaccurate language when
making public comments? Will there be no repercussion for such a
blatant disregard for the truth?
"Kriss' myopic view of sensible public
policy should be soundly rejected by all who understand that a resourceful
government must be a cost effective operation that benefits all
citizens, regardless of income."
