This spring the Massachusetts Democratic Party is seeking passionate and dedicated interns interested in learning about the Massachusetts political process on a statewide level. Massachusetts Democratic Party interns are crucial to the success of the Party in many respects. Our internship program provides interns with the opportunity to get a foot in the door of Massachusetts’s politics.
Our staff encourages interns to take on leading roles in many ongoing projects, offering interns the opportunity to see projects through from start to finish. Interns are expected to approach their administrative tasks with the same enthusiasm and professionalism as their special projects. Administrative tasks include answering the phones, keeping the office organized, maintaining our paper and electronic databases, and managing our general office in-boxes of mail, voice mail, and email. Interns are often the first point of contact for someone reaching out to the office, and thus must maintain a professional report in both internal and external communication.
This spring we will be working with our Democratic leaders and activists to hold Republican Governor-Elect Charlie Baker accountable for his promises made on the campaign trail. Additionally, we will be preparing for Town and City Caucuses electing delegates to our Convention in September, and planning our Annual Roosevelt Awards Reception.
Applicants best suited for a 2015 Spring Internship are those interested in learning about the overall Democratic process, the structure of a year-round fundraising operation, and political communications.
We are asking for a commitment of 12 hours a week minimum. Please send a resume and cover letter that expresses why you are interested in working for the Massachusetts Democratic … Read More
